Dishwasher quit in the middle of a cycle. There was no power to the user interface. I pulled the cover off to check to see if there was power to the dishwasher. That?s when I found that the main power wire was melted and had a bare spot that was grounding out to the inside of the cover. I cut back and repaired the wires. I installed new wire nuts. Ran and tested the dishwasher and it is workin great. Also note it?s a condo and the unit next door lost power the same morning the dishwasher stopped. Possible a power sired in the building?

Complaint of noise and poor wash. Following stored errors F0E5 off balance load F0E2 over suds Ran auto diagnostic cycle. Unit does not agitate or spin properly. Noise heard during both. Inspected under carriage. No signs of shaved plastic or belt. Hand spin basket and lower drive train appears good. Removed agitator. Found stripped drive hub. Inspected splines and splines are good. Ran agitate without agitator and noise still heard. Ran agitate with belt off and noise is from motor. Motor drive pulley slipping causing additional noise. Needs new motor and drive hub. Motor has 10 year warranty from Maytag. Customer advised to contact Maytag for motor and repair can be completed.

Complaint of no heat. Ran unit high heat timed dry and no glow from igniter. Tested timer and timer tested good, measured heat circuit from timer and heat circuit testing open. Removed rear panel and tested thermal fuse. Fused tested bad. Hit limit and TCO tested good. Installed new fuse. Igniter glows and flame cone is proper. Thermostat opens at 180 degrees and closes at 110 degrees, proper readings. Vent tested good. Unit tested good.
